Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. As a career educator, this is always one of my favorite times of the year.
There is something truly special about showering your teaching and instructional team with love and gratitude, and usually, an excess of food. This year, however, is different. This year, more so than any other, we all have the opportunity to recognize what is truly essential in our world.
If you are a parent of a school-aged child, I am sure you are acutely aware of just how important teachers are in your life! A great education, delivered by professional, engaging teachers is the bedrock of any thriving, enlightened, and hopeful society. We need hope right now, and as the leader of an education organization, I am fortunate to see this delivered every day by incredible and dedicated teachers. I cannot thank them, and the people who support them enough.
A great education, delivered by professional, engaging teachers is the bedrock of any thriving, enlightened, and hopeful society.
Please, if you have the chance next week, extend your deep gratitude and appreciation for the teachers in your community. If you cannot see them in person, which is likely, send them a note of thanks; make them a short video with you and your child showing some love. I guarantee you that your child’s teacher needs the support right now, and this will energize them to work even harder to ensure success for each student in their care.
Thank you to every educator, past, present, and future, who makes a difference.
