Lauren Usherwood Dip Silas

Education & Experience:
Lauren has a B.S. in Education with a minor in history from Crown College, MN. Lauren started teaching in Southeast Asia as a literacy instructor for elementary students. Lauren came to Groves in 2022 after studying the science of reading. As a well-traveled teacher, Lauren enjoys teaching and learning in a variety of contexts. Lauren’s philosophy of education is to guide students into lifelong learning through simplicity, creativity, and a growth mindset.
Hobbies:
In the winter you can find Lauren with a good book and a cuppa tea. In the summer Lauren enjoys growing plants and taking long walks with her dog, Finn. Lauren has a deep passion for learning and is naturally curious. Fun fact – Lauren lived in tropical Malaysia with her husband for three years before returning to snowy Minnesota.
