Katie Cates

Lower School Teacher

Katie attended Southwest Minnesota State University, where she earned her B.S. in Elementary and Early Childhood Education with a specialization in Pre-Primary and Special Education. In 2019, Katie received her Master’s degree in Education and certificate in Bullying Prevention from Hamline University. This is her 11th year teaching and first at Groves. Her educational experience includes interim principal and director of preschool, K-6 reading intervention, preschool, and elementary teacher.
 
Outside of school, Katie loves to spend time and spoil her nieces and nephew. She loves a good cup of coffee and dinner out with her friends. To relax, you can catch her reading on her patio, on a walk, or rewatching episodes of Psych and game shows.
