Groves Academy’s program is intentionally designed to specifically address language-based learning differences and ADHD in a small and inclusive environment. Our mission is to create transformational experiences for students by addressing their identified learning needs and building their confidence as learners.

They’re well-versed in the curriculum, instruction, and extracurricular activities offered at Groves Academy and services at Groves Learning Center. They’re also knowledgeable about learning disabilities and attention and executive function disorders. They can provide guidance regarding our school, diagnostic evaluations, ADHD & executive functioning coaching, tutoring, speech-language services, and other resources.

Lori-Anne Brogdon | VP of Learning/Head of School
In her 25th year in education, Lori-Anne has worked in both public and independent schools. Lori-Anne began her career in education teaching students preschool-12th grades in the subject areas of science and math. She has held various roles in administration as division directors and, most recently, as Head of School at an independent school in Chicago.
Ellen Engstrom | Director of Curriculum
Ellen received her B.A. from Wellesley College. She received an M.A. in Education from the University of Rochester and her M.A. in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota. Ellen has been a teacher in public and independent schools as well as in college. She was a Lead Education Specialist in the Landmark College Institute for Research and Training before serving as Director of Education and Director of Curriculum at Groves Academy.
